Kissing a Frog

I had to kiss a frog or two before I found my prince. In fact you could say, the first husband was a TOAD. I wish that I had been as fortunate as Van’s parents to marry well the first time. Van’s parents were married over 60 years.  My parents celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this year. Wow! What an amazing accomplishment!

I hope that my daughter, will forgo the “starter husband” concept. It helps if you can wait, for the prince to arrive. They don’t always arrive when we decide that we are ready for a partner.

The trick is to find a friend that you enjoy spending time with. Laughter is important, it will help through the bad days. No matter how much you love them, there are times when they try your last shred of nerve. It is important to have the same values and appreciation of life, love, respect and family.

My Prince finally arrived, and in the nick of time. My husband is the part that was missing. He is my best friend. Ashley and I are happy that he came to us when he did.
