Fairhope Film Festival

Fairhope’s Film Festival is preparing for the launch of the movie selection’s to be released. In a few days, the site will show the selections for the 2016 Festival November 10-13. This Film Festival is always held the second weekend in November.

Fairhope Film Festival

I have attended the film festival for three years. The first year, I only managed to see one film. I had heard about it at the last-minute. Each year after, I have managed to see more films. We attended the Red Carpet Event and had a blast mingling with friends that had driven in for the festival.

Most of the films that I saw last year were documentaries. I really enjoyed the International Films. Even with the subtitles, the imagery and on location shots were stunning.

This venue allows you to be adventurous, in your selections.  Some, if not most of the films shown will probably never be offered in local cinemas. In the past, the Film Festival had a great blend of all types of movies:

  • Comedy
  • Avant garde
  • Drama
  • Foreign Films
  • Documentary
  • Horror
  • Shorts

I was only able to attend one Panel Discussion at Lyons Share Gallery, but it was well worth the trip. I have always been intrigued by the  creative aspect of films. I was thrilled to have an opportunity to sit in a Q & A , with Writers, Directors and Producers. It was a rare experience.

Check out the site in a few days. View the trailers and make a list of the films that you may want to see. The hardest part is narrowing down the choices.

Go online and buy a 4-8 pack. Support the Arts. Pick a day to see movies with your girlfriends. Make a date night with your sweetheart. Make it a couples night.  Engage in the community!

Lagniappe: If your planning a meal before or after the movie, make a reservation. Fairhope was busy during this time, last year.
